Quiz night raises £13,000
Fancy raising £13,000 from one quiz night alone? You'll
need a bunch of willing attendees, some fabulous raffle prize
donations, and a swear jar...
Six Degrees
Group (6DG) raised £13,690 for HOPEHIV at their annual pub
quiz. With over 100 employees attending, and a raffle to help boost
profits on the night, the night topped their previous year's quiz
total by over £1,000!
The team from 6DG told us how they raised such a phenomenal
amount:
'Each team of six paid £250 to enter the quiz. To help boost
profits there was a raffle - prizes included an iPad mini. There
was also an auction on the night with items such as a helicopter
flights and hotel stays up for grabs. Finally, there was a swear
jar which made a significant impact on the overall total! We
estimate that the swear jar itself made approximatly £350...
Without going into too much detail, more severe words were fined at
a higher price!
The quiz itself was made up of several rounds, including music and
TV theme tunes. Others included building sports equipment out of
pipe cleaners and tricky mind puzzles. The event was for staff and
suppliers so was mainly advertised internally although external
guests were more than welcome. The night was such a success because
everyone at 6DG has seen how much amazing work HOPEHIV have done in
Sub-Saharan Africa so at events like this they are always happy to
show their support. All of the money raised was matched by 6DG
- so £6,845 was raised on the night and then doubled by 6DG.'
