Run a recipe book fundraiser

Recipe books have never been so popular, with Paul Hollywood, Jamie Oliver and heston Blumenthal all vying for space in UK kitchens! So cash in on the cooking frenzy and raise awareness of your charity, by producing your very own recipe book.

Helen Belger, member of Haltwhistle & District Town Twinning Association told us:

'Our town twinning organisations are based in three different countries. With some trepidation, we decided to produce a cookbook with recipes from all three printed in French, English and Italian. We enjoyed the process and are very happy with the result. We used The Cookbook Initiative who were extremely helpful! Each book sold for £7.50, making a profit of £2.50 per copy (ordering 75 copies).

It was all done online and was pretty easy - you just register, then complete individual templates, with individuals able to upload their recipes straight to the website. We asked each town to produce 15 recipes, the only criteria was that the dish was a family favourite! We managed to get the timing right so it was printed by the beginning of December in time for Christmas.

We ordered 75 copies and sold out, making £187 profit. Our French town ordered 300 and they're still selling!'
